Patan Durbar Square 

Patan Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley. It is best known for its rich cultural heritage, particularly its tradition of arts and crafts. Besides Patan Durbar Square you can also explore different cultural, religious and historical places such as, Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor temple, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple, Palace buildings and artistic courtyards.

While visiting you feel as if Patan is an open museum showcasing intricately carved windows, intrinsic roof struts, statues of gods and goddesses, temples designed in pagoda style with erotic carvings and repoussé metalwork facades and many other exquisite facets. Patan Durbar square was the former Royal Palace complex. It is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze status and religious monuments.

One remarkable monument here worth visiting is a 17th century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone. You will get to see handicraft centers in Patan. You will also find many restaurants and cafes some with rooftop views around Patan Durbar square.
