Overview

Pisang Peak (6,091 m) is one of the most popular trekking peaks in the Annapurna region. It lies just north of the Annapurna massif and Thorung La Pass(5416m). The trip begins with a 7-hour long drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and the next morning drive further to Nayapul. From Nayapul we follow the trekking trail starting from Tikhe Dhunga to Muktinath. From Muktinath, we continue our trip to Pisang Peak base camp, after crossing over the Thorong La Pass (5416m) – the highest pass in the Annapurna region.

At Pisang Peak base camp we take one day rest for acclimatization and do Prayer rituals to attempt the Summit successfully. From the summit of Pisang Peak, we enjoy the excellent views of the Annapurna Himalayan range and other smaller peaks. After the summit, we follow the route that leads us to Lower Pisang and Chame. From Chame, we drive back to Kathmandu via Beshishahar and conclude the trip. The terrain is mixed and exposed in areas that involve climbing and traversing with exciting rock faces and fixed ropes. One must have some previous mountaineering experience and a good level of fitness to climb and summit Pisang peak.

The climb is technically and physically challenging for those climbers who are seeking a thrilling and extremely rewarding expedition at such a high altitude.
