Ganesh Himal is a remote area in central Nepal bordered by Tibet. Very few trekkers have explored this area. This trek is named after one of the popular peaks-Ganesh Himal that lies between the Buri Gandaki river in the west, the Bhote Koshi River in the east, and the Trishuli River in the lower section. The unique climatic condition, mixed vegetation, and culture of the area make trekking to the Ganesh Himal region a wonderful experience.

We begin the journey to Ganesh Himal taking 9 hours long drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. After spending overnight in Syabru Besi, the starting point for Langtang valley and Gosaikund trekking, we begin our trek toward the Ganesh Himal region passing through a newly opened trekking route named “Tamang Heritage”. There is also another alternative route to start trekking to Ganesh Himal via Dhading Besi. This is the shortest driving route which takes only 3 hours. We can choose either route to make entry into the Ganesh Himal region.

Trekking to the Ganesh Himal area allows the trekkers to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarters and intermingle with locals, hence giving the trekkers a sense of satisfaction. Besides it also offers excellent habitat for a wide variety of rich flora and fauna at the foothills of the Ganesh Himal. Trekkers are impressed with the display of berberis, primula, orchids, and a variety of ferns, the whole area is sets ablaze by yellow blossoms of double Jasmine. The dense forest teems with Spanish oak, blue pine, and in springtime blossoming of the rhododendron set the whole forest alight in spectacular arrays of colors. Hot springs, Gorges, and glaciers, and magnificent sceneries are the highlights of the Ganesh Himal trek.

Trekking can be organized on a full board basis with the support of our camping crew. The best time for Ganesh Himal trekking is from March to May and late September to December.
