Gokyo Lake – Chola Pass & Everest Base Camp Trekking is one of the most adventurous and challenging treks in the Everest Region. It follows the route via a high pass called Chola Pass at 5,420 meters into Mt. Everest Base Camp (5,364 m). Trekking to Gokyo Lake – Chola Pass & Everest Base Camp begins with an amazing flight to Lukla. From Lukla, you will walk uphill slowly following the trail to the Dudh Kosi (it means ‘River of Milk’), and all through forests of Rhododendron, pine, and magnolia. After few hours of trekking, you will eventually reach Namche Bazaar (3,340 m) and spend one more day at Namche Bazaar (the delightful Sherpa capital) for acclimatization and optional hike around. From Namche, you will visit other Sherpa villages such as Phortse Tanga and Machhermo before heading for Gokyo Lake.
Trekking to Gokyo Lake – Chola Pass & Everest Base Camp after you reach Gokyo Lake you climb Gokyo Ri (5369m.) and from the top of Gokyo Ri you will enjoy stunning peaks of different mountains such as Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Kangtega (6,685 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), Cholatse Peak (6335 m), Taboche Peak (6,367 m) and many others. Then, the next day you cross Cho La Pass (5,420 m) and reach Dzongla.
After Dzongla you move towards Gorakshep and ascend to Kala Pattar (5,545 m) from Kala Pattar you will enjoy an impressive up-close view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Nuptse (7861 m) Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Pumori 7,165 m), Mt. Kangtega (6,685 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), Cholatse Peak (6,335 m), and enjoy many other Peaks.
Then, the next day morning you trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. When you return from Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) you follow the route through Pangboche, Tengboche, and Namche Bazaar. While on trek you will enjoy the incredible mountain scenery until you reach Lukla airstrip. The next day morning you take a flight back to Kathmandu.
