Overview
Far eastern and far western regions which lie at Nepal and Tibet border to the north are mostly retracted of foreigners for entry as the government of Nepal has regulated special permits to control tourism in those remote areas to protect both environment and culture from being degraded and for security and safety reasons.
Those trekking to Restricted Areas of Nepal must get a special permit which can be arranged only through a Government-Certified Trekking Company like High Mountain Himalaya Treks And Expedition Pvt. Ltd providing trained, local trekking guides, assistants, and porters.
If any foreigner is found entering into any of the Restricted Areas in the hill without special permits, s/he will be turned bank by the Police Check Posts instantly from the way.
Trekking to any restricted areas must be arranged as fully equipped using tents, Sherpa Assistant staff, cooks, and porters. One cannot trek alone; there must be at least two foreign trekkers in each group. Upper Mustang, Upper Dolpo, Manaslu, Manang, and Kanchenjunga are the main restricted areas of Nepal.
All these areas remain less touristy and pleasant to walk with a guide and trekking crew.
